Every year hundreds of stray dogs and cats end up in Miami County, Kansas, Shelters and Pounds.

Although local pet rescues and shelter staffs make every attempt to save these animals, the volume is just too great and many of them are euthanized.

You can help reduce these numbers simply by spaying or neutering your pet!

  • Do you have questions or concerns about spaying or neutering??  If so, contact your local veterinarian to discuss the issue.  You may be surprised to learn, for example, that female dogs do NOT have to go through a heat cycle before you can spay.
  • Do you think your unaltered dog is safe because you keep him/her in a fenced yard?  Keep in mind that your male dog only needs to escape his yard one time to become a father!  And all it takes is for a male dog to hop the fence one time to make your female dog a mom.

Don't wait  - spay or neuter your pet today!
